Group Skype - Starting Back, a summary.

Before the Skype call I felt as though a lifetime had passed since module one, however just a few minutes into the call I remembered the feelings and the process and it soon felt as though no time had passed at all.

I felt the call was very productive in many ways;

Discussing blogs

  • How this is something some of us may need to do more.
  • How some of us had been a little less active in communicating with others through their blogs and that this could be something to improve upon.
  • We also discussed how some of us had issues following and seeing other peoples blogs, before this I thought I was on my own and just simply didn't understand how blogger worked, so it was great to hear it wasn't just me and since then I have (hopefully) successfully followed some more of my peers.

Getting into a routine

  • How some of our lives may be different from in the previous modules and how this may impact our study; some had changed jobs within the same area (moving from one school to another), some had taken on more work, Henry's job had completely changed since module one and I am pretty much in the same position.
  • Getting into a routing - Would we set aside set days and hours for our BAPP work or would we be setting weekly targets? For me weekly targets work best and are more realistic than me setting aside certain hours.
  • Getting into a habit of reading and commenting on other's blogs.

Moving on from module one

  • What can we develop?
  • What could we change?
  • What will we keep the same?
  • What have we learned?

Hannah's Tips

These were great to hear from someone who had already experienced module two.

  • Don't let work snowball.
  • Don't skim read.
  • Be detailed in your searches.
  • Your enquiry route may change throughout this module.

The enquiry

  • This will develop over time.
  • It was reassuring to hear that we shouldn't worry at this point if we are not sure what route we will go down for our enquiry.
  • This should be liberating, not confining.

Overall a positive, productive and interesting Skype session.
