Group Skype Chat 31.03.17

The Group Skype call was at 12pm with myself, Paula, Jessica and Kirsty.

We first spoke about where we were up to with the readers. As none of us have had a chance to fully read through reader three we had no questions regarding this.

As I had been unable to make the campus session, it was really interesting to hear from Jessica what was spoke about during the session.

We then went on to discuss Reader 3. Paula asked us to identify what Professional Networks we were apart of. These included; Alumni, Social Media, Employers, Teachers, etc. Jessica then specifically mentioned how The Hustle (a group on Facebook for performers, which can be useful for finding work and auditions, or just generally networking with other performers) is very useful for her and how she engages with posts on there specific to her practice.
Paula asked me how useful the Hustle was for me, and I explained that I no longer use The Hustle (this was also the same for Kirsty) as I am now a member of groups that are more relevant to myself, such as teaching groups in my area. We spoke a lot about relevancy and how this was a good idea for reader three to go along with other ideas already identified in Paula's slides such as; cooperation & affiliation etc.

The Skype call then turned to our Critical Reflection. This took me by surprise a little, as I hadn't realised how close we had bee getting to the deadline date for submission. It was really good to talk through this, to gain a better understanding of how to write this.

It was a really great group call, which I felt was really beneficial.

  1. This is a useful point that groups on Facebook are now part of our process networking base - I hadn't thought of this prior to your blog!

    1. I think sometimes we are so busy with emailing people for jobs and attending auditions we forget what else helps us network with our professional practice. It was a really helpful skype for me personally I came away feeling at ease. Eleanor I also wrote about this and what I feel helps us network professionally. Have a look if you have a minute.
